The computer mishaps are over. Power outlet issues. Ewh.
Music’s a pretty huge part of my life. I’m listening to it probably 90% of my waking life, or making it or thinking about it.
I’m going into my sixth year of playing violin this autumn. That means violin officially holds the record for longest maintained hobby. I don’t practice as much as I should but everytime I pick it up I love just as much as the last time I did. I love everything about it- the smell, the weight, the feeling of it, but mostly how I can vent whatever I want into it and hold it next to me or even cry over it if I wanted to.
Here are a few of my absolute favorite musicians/composers:
-Yann Tiersen
-Conor Oberst (a.k.a. Bright Eyes)
-Cat Power (Yes, that’s her real name.)
-Nirvana
-Manu Chao
-Interpol
-Bjork (Yeah, I know she’s weird. But I love her.)
-Moby
-The Violent Femmes
-Goldfrapp
-Daft Punk
-Benny Benassi
-Echo and the Bunnymen
-Wolfmother
-Kasabian
-Velvet revolver (ok, and Guns n Roses, of course.)
-Sia
-The Honorary Title
-Death Cab for Cutie
-The Beatles
-Joshua Bell (Namely The Red Violin soundtrack)
and that’s just the basic every day selection. I could go on forever. What are your favorite artists? Do you know any of mine, or like them for that matter?

I know some, but I laughed at Bjork…have you seen the movie ‘Dancer in the Dark’? She’s the main character.
In between getting donations for ICU, you might want to rent it.
Then talk to Holly and Mrs. M about the movie. Holly loves it, especialy the soundtrack.
Uh, Amelia? Do you remember me? And are you my long-lost younger sister or maybe even my twin? My list is too infinitely long to put on here, but I wanted to let you know that I am right there with you with the following bands. I heart them.
-Cat Power (Yes, I LOVE that’s her real name)
-Interpol (did you happen to catch the interview in Spin magazine?)
-Bjork (‘Dancer in the Dark’. Do it.)
-Moby
-The Violent Femmes (recent add for me)
-Kasabian
-Velvet revolver
-The Honorary Title
-Death Cab for Cutie (The Transatlanticism album was the soundtrack for my life for most of 2006)
I’m inspired. Maybe I’ll blog my own little list.
And matching blog templates? Maybe separated at birth. Probably not though.
