As some of you may know, I’m really involved in a club at my high school dedicated to saving children in Northern Uganda (which includes kids affected by child soldiery in the 20-year-standing civil war.) This September 21st our club is putting on an event we’re calling PARTY 4 PEACE. We’re having a bunch of cool activities, good food, music, and games and all profits go directly to the kids in Invisible Children’s competition to raise money to build and improve schools in Uganda called SCHOOLS 4 SCHOOLS.
If you haven’t seen the documentary that sparked my interest in the cause, go to OUR MYSPACE. It’s about an hour long and it’ll change your life. (I know it changed mine.)
If you’d rather just read up on the crisis in Northern Uganda, go to THE INVISIBLE CHILDREN WEBSITE.
Here’s an article our silly little suburban newpaper put out about an event we did at school. Guess what? I made the front page! It’s cool they got us out there a little bit. Too bad they got my grade wrong, though. Oh shwell.
CLICK!
Invisible Children’s efforts to resolve conflict and stop the civil war in Uganda has already saved and improved the lives of thousands of children, I’m glad I’ve gotten to do my small part in helping too.
Who knows, maybe I’ve just sparked an interest in you?
Nice job!!!!!!!!!!! Way to get right on it!!!!
You’re doing a GREAT job in the club too! Thanx for your dedication and tenacity…and you’re fun!
You know how proud I am of you. My pal Shawna first sent me this link and when I tell her what you have done to participate in it she is amazed. As amazed as I. Your life is brilliant and what you do with it will have no ceiling.
Keep it up…It probably means nothing to youi, but seeing you go stuff like this really makes me proud to call you family!
