Yesterday my momma took me to look for a prom dress….

and we found a whole lotta ugly

and a whole lotta POOFY.

My mom said she pictures me going in a funky ‘cindy lauper’ dress.

Then again, while we were are Macy’s, my mom walked up to a dress from the Barbara Bush collection and said she liked it.

Jacob wants to wear pink tie. Need to find a dress to match pink tie. Amelia doesn’t exactly wear pink…but she would if she got THIS dress!

NOT.

Maybe I don’t wear pink because everytime I do I’m reminded of Jeffree Star.

Don’t know who jeffree star is? Catch up on your pop culture circa 2007-2008. He’s completely off his rocker.

Anyway, Back to prom. What do YOU think Amelia’s prom dress will look like?

Will I look like Barbara Bush, Cindy Lauper, or Jeffree Star?

Can I just say……….That wasn’t what I was picturing either? I just think that the winter formal dress was formal…….and the prom dress would be fun if it was a bit less mature…….but I would like your hips to be covered. So, we will try again and again until we find “just the right one.” Cheer us on fellow AmeliaBlog fans!

Ummm, I’m with your mother on the hips being covered thing. Never heard of Jeffree Star, but I don’t think he-she’s the look you’re going for….. maybe Barbara Bush? Classic, sophisticated, yet playful and sensuous.

Your mom has always loved the Barbara Bush look. Especially right after you were born.

Now I have to clarify the Barbara Bush reference. When Jason and I together he would often comment when we went shopping that I was drawn to things that looked like they belonged in the Barbara Bush collection.

When Amelia and I went shopping I told her that story and held something up that qualified.

I never really thought that you should look like Barbara Bush at your high school prom. Silly girl!
