I copied this idea from dad.

2. I am intelligent.
3. I have a few very close friends that know everything there is to know about Amelia, and stick with me through everything.

5. I am creative in art, writing, and music.
6. I enjoy playing the violin.
7. I have pretty good style…when I want to.
8. I have devoted a lot of time and effort to ICU, a cause that I believe in.

12. I have Elijah to smile at me anytime I enter the room, and to laugh at my ridiculous faces.
13. I get pretty good grades.
14. I have my head on straight…usually. I have goals and know how to reach them. I tend to do just that.
15. I have a generous heart. (Copied that one from dad.)
16. I have two neurotic and funny dogs who like to cuddle with me and follow me around.
17. I have a little sister who is very eccentric, but also very feeling and caring.
18. I have avoided (and escaped from) the typical bad teenage peer pressure and stupidity.
19. I am not what most people stereotype as teenager. I am not apathetic.
20. I learn from my mistakes.
21. I am healthy.
22. I can look at the world through rose-colored glasses. I can see the chaos and hardship of everyday life in the world and still see beauty in it.
23. I have a lot of extended family that, although they don’t see me often, cares about me a lot and provides my life with adventure and humor.
24. I am a Shelton-Corsi-Chizma-Woodard. I have 3 dads who have diversified my life experiences and each love me in their own way. I have multiple families with different cultures. I have family members from each of those families that make life better with their own talents and personalities.
25. Even though I come from a long line of white rednecks, I get to be Mexican too! I could fool any of my Spanish teachers with my non-gringo-sounding spanish!
26. I can cook.
27. I am adventurous with food.
28. I am adventurous with a lot of other things too.
29. I can write pretty well.
30. I have Diego. He likes to paint with me and use the lint roller to get the white dog hair off of my brown colored duvet. He is rather amusing. He stirs up chaos in the house when it starts to get boring. He also knows exactly which words to copy out of conversation and yell them out at the dinner table. “Queef! queef!”
31. My parents are divorced, but still have a good relationship. No fighting. No nasty custody battle. I am very lucky in comparison to most kids with divorced parents.
32. I have two gay dads and that has opened my mind to different kinds of people.
33. I’m not shabby looking! :]
34. My best friend Ana thinks I’m funny! We can be complete idiots around one another. We’ve been good friends for 5 years now!
35. My boy friend Jacob is respectful, kind, oh, never mind. I could ramble on and on about this one…
36. I like to garden. Or maybe I just have an obsession with plants?
37. I look forward to having my own kids years from now. I know I will be a good mom.
38. I am good at keeping myself busy. I also enjoy being alone.
39. Even though I haven’t lived close to my mom for most of my life, we have a good relationship. How could we not? She’s the coolest mom I know.
40. I have an eclectic taste in music.
41. I have honest relationships.
42. I have a good home. Although I don’t particularly adore the city I live in, it’s safe and I don’t have to fear for my life when I’m walking down the street.
43. I am pretty outgoing.
44. I can listen.
45. I can goof off with little kids. I’m a good babysitter and people trust me with their children.
46. I don’t need expensive things to feel good about myself or make me happy, like many of the self entitled girls I’ve come across.
47. I can read music. Music has been a part of my life ever since I can remember.
48. I can paint. Draw. Sketch. blah blah blah
49. I have memories of my Grandma Nina. She used to make me pink play-doh at her house. I remember her flower shop and when she visited us in California and the sound of her voice.
50. I will always have memories of Lincoln and his craziness. Even though it makes me sad that he’s gone, I can still laugh about his socks with flip flops and ‘pull-my-finger’ games.
I enjoy reading these lists. I can easily think of 50 things I like about the people I love, but it is better to hear about what they like about themselves.
PS: I love the memories you have. They are precious.
51. Your dad adores you and is so very proud of you for everything you are and all you will become.
